Our first group field herping trip of 2013, CVHS members got together for a day of field herping at Lake Camanche.

We had some fun! Here are my photos. We found lots of lizards and skinks, but all my shots are of the snakes.

Thanks for looking.

This was so much fun! We really have to do this again a few times while the weather is good.

Here are the pictures I took :woot:

There were only two rattlesnakes found, but since they were the first ones I have ever seen in the wild I went a little crazy with the pictures lol, sorry.

Edgar - thank you so much for organizing this trip, I had a great time and was very happy to see all that we did on my first time out!

Ever since the zonata talk I've wanted to go to the Sierras to see how difficult they are to find - maybe another CVHS trip??? I think it would be alot of fun...

Mary

ps - about the salamanders, no we didn't see any, it was pretty dry and where there was water the cattle had um, "altered the habitat".

I'm new to CVHS, so unfortunately I missed this trip, but looks like a lot of fun. I will be at Lake Camanche this weekend for a fishing tournament and will keep an eye out for the herps!
